Self-made man

My participation in the Fumetto Festival 2026 comics competition under the theme "Peak". The story reflects on the myth of the “self-made” man, the idea that power is earned alone, at the top, without scaffolding, inheritance, or invisible labor. A casual dialogue between mother and child unfolds in front of an Egyptian-inspired graphic, where today’s powerful figure appears as a contemporary pharaoh. The peak begins to look less like achievement and more like construction.

Who builds the pyramid? Who gets to stand on it?
