Uninhabitable Spaces
The project treats space as a carrier of meaning and a device for storytelling. It draws from utopian architectural proposals while engaging with a parallel archive of anonymous, error-ridden, or “failed” buildings circulating online. It constructs fragmented spatial narratives that operate through deliberate ambiguity, where architectural logic is loosened and reassembled into staged conditions that destabilize orientation, access, and resolution. Across these systems, space appears to offer movement, passage, or completion, while continuously withholding it. Rather than proposing fixed interpretations, the work constructs spatial conditions in which meaning emerges through interruption, repetition, and deferral.
Conceived during a period of burnout from architectural practice, the project also stands as a quiet act of resistance, a form of harmless revenge against the relentless hustle culture that dominates the profession. In abandoning any concerns of functionality, deadlines, perfectionism, and client demands, it reclaims architecture as a space of unconstraint freedom and imagination.
