Ascension–Decline

Ascension–Decline proposes a structure that suggests multiple paths of ascent. Yet none of its stairways reaches a final level, forming a system of continuously interrupted trajectories. The viewer moves through a condition of repetition and return, echoing the figure of Sisyphus as a spatial logic of unresolved progression. Rather than producing connectivity, the structure generates a paradoxical sense of isolation. It becomes a monument to suspended ascent, where movement is perpetually implied but never completed.
